What this policy covers
Fresh Citadel is a one-person pottery studio in a rented machiya in Nada Ward, Kobe. This policy describes, in plain terms, the little personal information that passes through the website, how it is used, and what you may ask of us under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
—
Who holds your information
Sakura Maeda runs the studio and answers every message herself. The address is 〒657-0036 兵庫県神戸市灘区桜口町3-6, and the mailbox is hello@freshcitadel.com. There is no separate data team and no outside company processing enquiries on our behalf.
—
What you may send us
The contact form and the email link ask for a name, an email address and your message; a phone number is optional. People typically tell us which class they would like, which Saturday suits them, what size of bowl or set they have in mind for a commission, or whether a piece in the range is still available. Photographs of a table you want to match are welcome. Please leave out anything unrelated to your question.
—
Why we use it
Your details are used for one job: replying and arranging what you asked about. That means holding a place in a wheel-throwing or hand-building session, discussing a commission that usually takes two to three months, or telling you when the next firing is unpacked. We do not send promotions that were not requested, and enquiries are never added to a list.
—
Local storage and cookies
Nothing here tracks visitors. When you dismiss the small notice at the foot of the page, your browser stores one setting, under the name hkar, so the notice is not repeated on each page. It identifies nobody. If you delete site data in your browser, the notice returns and nothing else is lost.
—
Studio visits and classes
If you book a class or visit the gallery on a Saturday between 11:00 and 17:00, we use the name and session date you gave us to make sure the right number of wheels and aprons are ready. We do not copy those details into any other system.
—
Sharing
We do not sell or hand over your details. A courier receives a name, address and phone number only when a finished piece is being sent to you and you have agreed to that delivery. Beyond that, disclosure to a third party occurs only when a Japanese court or authority legally requires it.
—
How long we keep messages
Email threads are kept while a booking, order or commission is open. When the work is delivered or the question is answered, we delete the thread. A commission record with the agreed price and delivery date is kept for the period that bookkeeping rules demand, without the rest of the correspondence.
—
Your rights and how to use them
You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it. There is no fee. Write to hello@freshcitadel.com or phone 078-806-5148; weekday calls are best made by appointment, as the studio is staffed by one person. To protect you, we may ask you to confirm that the request comes from you.
—
Updates and complaints
When practice changes, this page is edited and its date changed, and the version shown is the one in force. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first at hello@freshcitadel.com; you can also contact the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan.
—
Photographs of your work
If you send pictures of a bowl you own, a table setting or a room, we use them only to discuss your commission or a repair. We do not post them on the site or social channels, and we do not pass them to other makers, unless you have told us in writing that we may.
—
Articles and gallery
The articles and the gallery are there to be read and looked at; opening them does not ask for or record anything about you. If you want to ask about a piece pictured in the gallery, use the contact form and name the piece, so we can find it in the firing records and answer properly.
